Kathryn King Media was created in 1999 by Kathryn King, a veteran of over 35 years in the music industry. Over the course of this time Ms.King has concentrated on two main areas of endeavor - publicity/marketing and record production. Her eclectic tastes inspired her to devote her energies to a wide variety of musical genres as, among other things, Director of U.S. Operations for ECM Records, Director of the Classical Division of ABC Records, Director of Product Management at Sony Classical, and as independent record producer and media consultant. Her recordings have been nominated for Grammy Awards three times, and in 1986 she won the Grammy for Best Children's Recording for her production of one of 35 records made for Sesame Street. A veteran of many years of publicizing and marketing artists and their recordings, Ms.King enjoys the relationships she has built for over three decades with writers and media contacts in a variety of musical genres. Among the artists she has promoted over the years, in addition to those featured on the KKM website, are Heiner Goebbels, Thomas Hampson, Art Ensemble of Chicago, the San Lucas Band, Arvo Pärt, Emanuel Ax, Keith Jarrett, Frans Brüggen, LAGQ, Jonathan & Darlene Edwards, the Juilliard String Quartet, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Ottmar Liebert, Jane Eaglen, the Hilliard Ensemble, Bill Frisell, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Daniel Lentz, the Kuijken Brothers, David Torn, John Abercrombie and Yefim Bronfman.
